As you start defining strings to represent labels and hint text, you might wonder what happens if you want to deploy your application in different languages. Are these strings hard-coded into the entity object The answer is no. When you define control hints, you should see a file in the Application Navigator called ModelBundle.properties. This file contains the actual strings, and the entity object references those strings. To create a separate set of translations, create a new properties file by selecting File | New and, in the New Gallery dialog, selecting General and then File. The filename for the translated strings should include a language identifier. So, for German the file would be ModelBundle_de.properties, since de is the language identifier for German. You can then copy and paste the strings from the ModelBundle.properties file into the German version of the file and translate accordingly. You can populate and manage your resource bundles by editing them directly or by selecting Application | Edit Resource Bundle and selecting the appropriate resource file. To test your translations and language-specific control hints such as date format mask, select Tools | preferences and, from the Preferences dialog, select Business Components and then Tester. This allows you to select the languages you wish to test from within the ADF Business Component Browser. Now run your application module using the ADF Business Component Browser, and from the menu select Locale and choose the language you wish to test. This allows you to test your translated strings for your language-specific properties file as well as test the currency format for data such as the credit limit for a customer.

That same Connect to Server dialog box allows the user to add the server to the keychain. Adding the server login information to the keychain should not be taken lightly because it will make access to the server much easier from the computer the script ran on. However, if you don t want to have to enter the same login details each time the script is run, then storing this information in the keychain is still far more secure than hardcoding them in your script, which isn t secure at all (not even if the script is saved as run-only). Adding the login information to the keychain can cause other issues, as explained later in the Mounting Volumes and the Keychain Feature section.

If you want, you can supply the name of the specific volume to mount. This might be the name of a mounted disk or a particular user account: mount volume "afp://Jean-Grays-Macintosh.local/Macintosh%20HD" mount volume "afp://OfficeMac.local/jsmith" If the URL doesn t include a volume name, Mac OS will list all the available volumes for the user to choose from. You can also supply login information directly to the command in one of two ways. You can either include the username and/or password in the URL itself or use the command s as user name and with password parameters.

How to add Barcode to Local Reports ( RDLC ) before report ...
In the following guide we'll create a local report ( RDLC file) which features barcoding capabilities by using Bytescout Barcode SDK. Follow these steps:.

When defining control hints for a more sizable application, you may well find yourself applying the same control hints to multiple attributes. For example, you might require all date attributes to have the same date format mask and the same help text. Property sets are a convenient way of grouping together properties like control hints and applying that group to a specific attribute. So, rather than setting Tooltip Text, Format Type, and Format for each date attribute, you can define a property set that includes Tooltip Text, Format Type, and Format, and then apply that property set to all of the attributes. To create a property set, select File | New and, in the New Gallery dialog, select ADF Business Components and then property Set. Enter a name for Property Set Name and click OK. In the property set editor, click the green plus button to add the following properties, some of which can be translatable: property FMT_FORMAT FMT_FORMATTER TOOLTIP Value

The following two script lines will work the same. The first includes the login information in the URL, and the second one uses parameters: mount volume "afp://username:my_password@serverNameOrIpAddress" mount volume "afp://serverNameOrIpAddress" as user name "username" with password "my_password" Or you can just supply the username by itself and leave the user to type the password into the Connect to Server dialog box. You can also use other protocols instead of AFP, such as SMB. The protocol you use depends on the server setup. For example, you can use the following subroutine as a general subroutine for mounting server volumes: on mountVolume(userName, pswd, serverIP, volumeName) set serverString to "afp://" & userName & ":" & pswd & "@" & serverIP & "/" & volumeName mount volume serverString end mountVolume When using this mountVolume subroutine, it s useful to note that Standard Additions mount volume command is pretty relaxed about URL encoding issues. For example, a volume name such as Macintosh HD should really be encoded as Macintosh%20HD, but in practice the unencoded version seems to work OK too. However, if any of your mountVolume parameters contain special URL characters such as forward slashes, you will need to encode these first, or it won t work as intended.
